Behind Baboushka, there's me: Babou
As a little girl, I loved spending my Sundays flipping through family albums with my grandmother. One day, she showed me her black-and-white wedding photos, and I was struck by the energy radiating from them. She looked so young, in a beautiful dress with the timeless charm of the 1960s, wearing that smile I knew so well. She told me it was my great-grandmother who had made that dress, with her own hands. I found it so beautiful that it immediately made me want to make wedding dresses myself, to make as many brides-to-be as beautiful and happy as my grandmother was that day.
So I studied fashion design, then spent three years working in different wedding dress boutiques in Liège, to learn the craft up close. In early 2026, I finally decided to make this childhood dream come true and open my own private showroom: Baboushka Atelier, in tribute to my grandmother and my great-grandmother, the two women who gave me the desire to practise this wonderful craft.
